Bighorn River

Tip of the week:

The best techniques right now are going to be nymphing with our cooler spring temperatures. Fish will pod up in the deeper sections (holes) in the river and are trying to eat and keep warm. Keep an eye out for rising heads if the temperatures are warming up. Trout on the Bighorn River can be caught on a dry fly year round. We are seeing midge hatches but not a lot of heads looking up right now.

Seven-day forecast:

Thermopolis weather looks pretty good this week. Temperatures will be in the 40's-60's of this week! By the weekend, spring showers are expected Thursday-Sunday. We are very excited that spring is here, and it is time to go fish before the spring runoff!
