President's Letter - Welcome Kanooka Members

On behalf of the members of Upper Chattahoochee Chapter Trout Unlimited (UCCTU), I warmly welcome our new members from the former Kanooka Chapter.  When the Kanooka Chapter closed its doors, its area was reassigned among neighboring chapters. This is done by Zip Code, so we think you will find our meetings and activities very convenient for you.

UCCTU is one of the oldest and most active Trout Unlimited chapters in Georgia.

UCCTU meets the fourth Tuesday of every month, except November and December, at Ippolito’s Italian Restaurant on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. Usually, we arrive between 6 and 7 for a beverage and meal before the formal meeting begins at 7.

You’ve already been added to our emailing list, so you’ll be receiving our monthly newsletter and notifications of chapter events and activities.  You can also follow us on Facebook at or check out our website at

We hope that all of you coming over from Kanooka will settle right in as we pursue our common goals to conserve, protect and restore our cold water fisheries. If you choose to stay with UCCTU, you do not have to make any changes at all. You can also take this opportunity to look at other chapters in the area and choose what works best for you. There is a “find a chapter” link on Trout Unlimited’s Home page at and TU members can choose the chapter of their preference at any time. Here’s a link on how to choose a local chapter:

We are really happy to have you be a part of UCCTU and you can always email with any questions.  You’ll also find our chapter officers happy to help you with any issues. You can find their information at:

Hope to see you soon,

Jim Harvey
